Daikokuya Torrance is a ramen in Torrance, California. It is listed at 2589 Pacific Coast Hwy, Torrance, CA 90505, which places it among the local businesses of Torrance that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as japanese restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Torrance is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Torrance follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Service was absolutely terrible. Today it was over 97 degrees outside and it was 4:58 when we got there. Door was opened and unlocked so we asked the waiter (don’t know his name but he was Asian and he opened the door at 5, he was male) nicely if we could stay inside for until they open which was at 5. 2 mins. Waiter gave us an attitude and said β€œthe sign is clear can’t you see it” and had a bad attitude overall. He flicked the sign at us and purposely emphasized it to show us a point even though it was just for TWO minutes. It was hot and a lot of people have been getting heat strokes. We left. Horrible service will never be coming. First and last time for sure.

I was excited to learn that Daikokuya had come to Torrance as I could never bring myself to go to the LA location due to traffic and no parking. I immediately went when they opened and got seated right away. The menu was small but that was fine. I ordered the vegetable gyoza and the spicy miso ramen with no added extras. The ramen came first and don't get me wrong, it was good, but it was not wow amazing. The broth was not that spicy and the heat of the soup was a bit lukewarm. The noodles were just ok and the toppings were like your regular ramen toppings. Nothing really stood out to me. The gyoza though, super delicious. I don't know whether they are homemade, but they felt like it. Flavorful and hot, I could have eaten more of those.

Tastes just as good as the other locations, but without the wait. The menu is a little smaller than the other locations. The combo meals are a great value. I got the ramen, fried rice, and salad combo for just $24. The service was great, and they kept the original setup from the previous restaurant, which gives the place a cozy, authentic feel, almost like you're in Japan.

First review! Good service and good food at a fair price. I will happily return. Daikokuya had their soft open on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
